CIP equipment

Today, it is almost common to have automated CIP systems in the pharmaceutical industry. And with the passage of the years it is always more perfect.

Today, highly automated CIP systems are increasingly common in the pharmaceutical industry. And over the years, they have become increasingly refined.

These systems help us achieve:

  • Effective and repeatable cleaning that ensures the next production run starts under optimal conditions, preventing ionic and/or microbial contamination.
  • A significant reduction in cleaning operation time due to automation.
  • Savings in cleaning water (softened or purified water) and rinsing water, as well as in the additives used.
  • Increased safety for personnel and machinery by drastically reducing human intervention.

A CIP system like the one shown in the image can service nine machines completely autonomously, with specific recipes for each machine and for each particular product that machine can manufacture, for a total of nine recipes.

Likewise, an auditing system is implemented, always in compliance with CFR 21 Part 11. This ensures that each cleaning is performed correctly and that empirical evidence supports the procedure.

In this particular case, an IO-Link communication bus is implemented for the valve and instrumentation areas.

This system allows for shorter implementation times and the possibility of predictive analytics, minimizing unscheduled downtime by enabling the auditing of valves and probes based on the operational data they transmit.
